Deadline nears to register to vote in March election

PINELLAS COUNTY – Monday, Feb. 12, is the voter registration deadline for anyone planning to vote in the March 13 elections.
The renewal of the Penny for Pinellas and several municipal elections will be on the March 13 ballot. People who are new to the state who haven’t registered to vote before have about a month to register. New residents from other Florida counties may register an address change with the statewide voter registration system.
To help register as many people as possible before that deadline, Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark is scheduling numerous voter registration events throughout the county during the week of Feb. 4.
Registration is available during regular business hours at any public library or driver license office, or at any government office handling social services or disabilities. For a list of registration sites, visit www.votepinellas.com/RegistrationAgencies.aspx.
Citizens who are already registered to vote are encouraged to update their name, address, party or signature changes prior to election day. Address changes within the county may be made by telephone. Other updates may be made by completing and signing a Voter Registration Application with the changes noted. Updates may also be made at any voter registration event.
For more information, call the Supervisor of Elections office at 727-464-3551 or visit www.votepinellas.com.
