ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a St. Petersburg man Feb. 3 for aggravated child abuse.
The 4-month old male is being treated for life threatening injuries at a local hospital. The child reportedly has a lacerated stomach, a broken rib, bruising and a laceration behind his right ear.
According to the sheriff’s report, the incident occurred Feb. 1 at a private residence in St. Petersburg.
The child was in the care of Nathaniel Zemola, 24, at the time of the incident. The injuries were discovered when the mother returned from work. During an interview with detectives on Monday, Feb. 3, Zemola denied the allegations.
