ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives identified the woman found deceased on Gandy Beach Thursday morning.
While the investigation is ongoing, detectives say the death of Pamela Sue Simon, 51, of St. Petersburg does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
Simon’s body was found in an inlet near mangroves about 7:10 a.m. Feb. 21 at 13090 Gandy Blvd., just east of the Banana Boat Bayside.
The passerby who discovered the body called 911. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiners Office conducted an autopsy and the final determination of cause and manner of death is pending toxicology reports. The death may be health and/or alcohol or drug related.
