Elections Supervisor announces Register at Work Month
Article published on Tuesday, March 18, 2008
PINELLAS COUNTY - Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark – along with the 66 other Florida elections supervisors – is designating March as Register at Work Month.

Clark’s office is looking for major employers in Pinellas County to provide employees with on-site voter registration, election materials and information about the new paper ballot optical scan voting system. There is no cost to businesses for these services or materials.

Register at Work Month is part of the 2008 VOTE Campaign (Voter Outreach Through Education), a statewide voter registration and education initiative. Additional voter registration drives will be coordinated throughout the spring and summer to encourage Floridians to register to vote, update their addresses and signatures, serve as poll workers, and vote in the Primary and General Elections.

In 2006, participating businesses for Register at Work Month included Home Shopping Network, Pinellas Schools Administration, Young-Rainey Star Center, Honeywell, LinVatec, Nielsen Media Research, Raymond James, Jabil Circuit, Hunter Douglas, All Children’s Hospital and others.

Other 2008 VOTE Campaign activities include Register at School Month in April; Register at Your Local Merchants Month in May; Register at Your House of Worship Month in June; Register Online Month in July; and additional efforts from August through October to increase voter participation in the Primary and General Elections.

For more information about Register at Work Month in Pinellas County or the statewide 2008 VOTE Campaign, call the Supervisor of Elections office at 727-464-6108 or visit www.votepinellas.com.
