Seminar to explain financial mysteries to teens

PINELLAS COUNTY – The Pinellas Public Library Cooperative will partner with Bank of America and Junior Achievement to present a pilot Teen Financial Literacy program, From Broke to Bling at your library.
Through the award of a Bank of America Foundation grant, programs will be offered for teens April to June at 20 library locations. Programs will be hosted at all member libraries including the Clearwater Public Library System, Dunedin Public Library, East Lake Community Library, Gulf Beaches Public Library, Gulfport Public Library, Largo Public Library, Oldsmar Public Library, Palm Harbor Public Library, Pinellas Park Public Library, Safety Harbor Public Library, St. Pete Beach Public Library, St. Petersburg Public Library System, Seminole Community Library and the Tarpon Springs Public Library.
The program will include information on banking, various consumer and student loans, importance of credit/credit purchasing, and overall understanding of solid financial awareness for their futures. Junior Achievement, is establishing curriculum in conjunction with Bank of America for middle-school and high-school aged teens.
