CLEARWATER - Pinellas County Administrator Robert S. LaSala announced the selection of David E. Scott as executive director of the Department of Environment and Infrastructure.
Scott is currently the transportation engineer for the Department of Public Works in Norfolk, Va.
He has served as the director of Public Works for both the city of Baltimore, Md. and the city of Atlanta, Ga.
Scott has more than 25 years of experience in large complex public works and utilities administration. He earned a master’s degree in engineering and has held leadership positions in professional and civic organizations.
“Scott has broad experience in county government functions and demonstrates strong management and leadership skills. I believe we are fortunate to secure a professional executive with Mr. Scott’s background,” LaSala said. “I am confident he will make a positive contribution to Pinellas County.”
“I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that Pinellas County offers,” Scott said. “This position is an opportunity to engage with the staff and the community around the quality of life issues in the Department of Environment and Infrastructure that are so important to the long- term future of the county.”
Scott will begin work with Pinellas County on May 14.
