ST. PETERSBURG – A man arguing with his 16-year-old daughter was attacked by the family’s pit bull at a residence in unincorporated St. Petersburg Friday morning.
According to a report from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Hai Trinh Dang, 50, and his daughter were arguing through the door of her bedroom about 9 a.m. April 11. The pit bull was inside the bedroom with the daughter and became agitated due to the raised voices. When the father opened the bedroom door, the dog attacked him.
Emergency medical services personnel and deputies responded to a 911 call. Dang was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Deputies report that he had lacerations to his scalp, arm, hand and leg.
Pinellas County Animal Services also responded and took possession of the dog. No charges are pending at this time, deputies said.
