Program helps provide low cost health insurance for kids

PINELLAS COUNTY – An innovative program offers help to enroll children in Florida Healthy Kids, the state health insurance program for children ages 5 to 18.

Healthy Kids is an affordable, low cost health insurance program for working families who cannot afford private health insurance. The program, coordinated by Suncoast Health Council with funding from Pinellas County Human Services, also has funds to pay the first month premium fee for low-income families who may be eligible for subsidized coverage.
