PINELLAS PARK - Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and Pinellas Park police teamed up for a DUI Checkpoint April 25-26 at Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg, 8900 U.S. 19 N. in Pinellas Park.
According to a report from the Sheriff’s Office, 2,661 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, which ran from 10 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday, and 361 were diverted. The average intrusion time was two minutes, six seconds.
Twenty-five citations were issued and 21 vehicles were impounded. Twenty-two were arrested on the following charges.
• Six for DUI
• 13 for driving with license suspended or revoked
• One for no valid driver’s license
• Two for DWLSR habitual traffic offender (felony)
