LARGO - Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark said on May 2 that four candidates had completed their qualifying requirements for County Judge during the week’s qualifying period.
All candidates qualified by filing the required documents and paying a qualifying fee, and all candidates are unopposed.
The 2014 qualified candidates for County Judge are Edwin B. Jagger, Group 3; James Vincent Pierce, Group 10; Robert G. Dittmer, Group 14; and John Carassas, Group 15.
Unopposed candidates do not appear on the ballot and will become elected automatically.
Statewide, the qualifying period for all federal, judicial, state attorney and public defender candidates began at noon April 28 and ended at noon May 2.
Candidates for federal office, circuit judge, state attorney and public defender qualify with the Florida Division of Elections. The offices of state attorney and public defender are only up for election this year in the 20th Circuit.
