ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg man was arrested May 7 for lewd and lascivious battery on a victim under age 16. Detectives believe there are more victims.
Leonard Bame, 32, is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, the battery occurred at Bame’s residence April 9.
During the investigation, detectives discovered that Bame met the victim through his employment as a promoter for teen parties at Café Charlie in Clearwater. The victim, along with other juveniles, assisted Bame in the promotion of these parties. Bame would often pick up the juveniles from school and take them to various locations to promote the gatherings.
Due to his frequent contact with children and other information obtained during the investigation, it is believed there may be more victims.
