CLEARWATER- After 30 days of tax delinquency, Florida Statute, 320.19, allows for priority tax liens to be put on mobile homes with unpaid taxes. The Pinellas County Tax Collector sent out 2,500 delinquent registration reminders the week of May 12-16.
Diane Nelson, Pinellas County Tax Collector, said, “If they do not pay to renew their decals, we will be forced to put a tax lien on their mobile home. It is not fair to allow taxes to go unpaid by some, when the majority of Pinellas County mobile home owners pay their taxes.”
The Pinellas County Tax Collector recognizes that Florida Law regarding the taxation and classification of mobile homes may sometimes be difficult to understand. The Tax Collector’s goal is to assist residents in complying with the statutory requirements. Questions may be emailed to email@example.com.
