ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives arrested two men June 16 in connection to charges of sexually abusing and physically abusing a female victim under the age of 16.
One of the suspects also was charged with burglary with assault or battery after he entered the second suspect’s residence without permission and hit him in the face with a closed fist. The incidents occurred between June 12 and June 15 at two private residences in Pinellas County.
According to the sheriff’s report, detectives were contacted on Monday, June 16, after it was reported that a suspect was observed to be undressed with a 15-year-old victim. Detectives identified the male as Colby Naler Smith, 18, of St. Petersburg. Smith and the victim reportedly had sexual contact June 15.
During an interview, the victim told detectives that another suspect had also physically abused her on three different occasions between June 12 and June 14, 2014 because he did not want her around Smith. Detectives identified the second suspect as Alex Jeffrey Bokhouen, 20, also of St. Petersburg.
Detectives met Smith who, according to the sheriff’s report, admitted to the allegations of having sexual contact with the victim. During Smith’s interview with detectives, he advised that Bokhouen was upset that he had been with the victim, entered his home without permission and struck him in the face with a closed fist.
Bokhouen met with detectives on the afternoon of June 16 and reportedly admitted to the allegations of physically abusing the female victim and hitting Smith.
Smith and Bokhouen were arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident. Smith was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery. Bokhouen was charged with one count of child abuse, one count of burglary with assault or battery and one count of violation of probation.
