CLEARWATER - The board of directors of the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative recently announced the selection of a new executive director of PPLC.
Cheryl Morales began her tenure as executive director on June 9.
Morales comes to PPLC from American Samoa where she was the Territorial Librarian where she created a dynamic public library system. After 15 years in Samoa, Morales wanted to move back to Florida, where she has family.
Morales has been an active member of every community where she worked, involving herself in building community partnerships from animal and child welfare to the preservation of essential records.
The PPLC serves Pinellas County residents in member cities and the unincorporated county. The cooperative office provides coordination of activities and funding as well as marketing services for the member libraries. Member libraries include the Clearwater Public Library System, Dunedin Library, East Lake Community Library, Gulf Beaches Library, Gulfport Library, Largo Library, Oldsmar Library, Palm Harbor Library, Barbara S. Ponce Public Library, Pinellas Talking Book Library, Safety Harbor Library, St. Petersburg Library System, St. Pete Beach Library, Seminole Community Library and Tarpon Springs Library.
Each member library provides access to information, materials and programs for the enrichment of individual and community life.
