Kelly announces candidacy

PINELLAS COUNTY – Assistant Public Defender Lorraine Kelly announced her candidacy for Pinellas County Judge, Group 16.

Kelly has been a practicing attorney in Florida since 1993. She became an assistant public defender in the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco counties) in 1996 and was named Public Defender of the Year for the Sixth Circuit in 2001.

Kelly has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida and a Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University. While at FSU, she was nominated for Teaching Assistant of the Year and received the Leadership Award for Outstanding Service to the College of Arts and Science.

For the past 12 years, Kelly has been a member of the adjunct faculty at the Eckerd College Program for Experienced Learners.
