LARGO – Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies are joining more than 35 children ages 10 to 15 at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches Summer Camp, July 13-18, at the Caruth Camp, 14770 SE Highway 19 in Inglis, Florida.
The camp is a voluntary program whose goals are to provide campers with the opportunity to try new activities, learn new skills and make new friends.
Deputies act as youth leaders and mentors to the campers throughout the week. The camp will provide participants a positive experience with deputy sheriffs as they interact in work and recreational activities to include arts and crafts, archery, nature hikes, sports, water safety and more.
The camp also strives to teach campers valuable teamwork skills through group living, group decision making and teamwork exercises.
