Bealls schedules blood drives

PINELLAS COUNTY – Florida Blood Services bloodmobiles will be at certain Bealls stores Monday, Aug. 4, 2 to 8 p.m.
The locations include the Seminole Mall, 1120 Park Blvd., Seminole; 10500 Ulmerton Road, Largo; 3140 Tampa Road, Oldsmar and 7899 Ninth St. N., St. Petersburg.
All donors will receive a Bealls coupon for an additional 10 percent off anything in the store, “Team USA Blood Donor” T-shirts, a chance to win a $50 Bealls gift card, plus an entry into a weekly drawing for a three-day, two-night beach getaway at the Tradewinds Island Beach Resort on St. Pete Beach.
Generally, healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can be blood donors. Identification is required prior to donation. For those unable to donate blood, contributions may be mailed to Florida Blood Services Foundation, 10100 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N., St. Petersburg, FL 33716, or submitted online at www.bloodrelief.org.
Florida Blood Services provides the blood needs of patients at 37 hospitals in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties, through the generosity of volunteer blood donors. More than 750 donations are required daily, due to the high quality of medical care in Tampa Bay that serves the most critically ill patients throughout west central Florida.
