A Circuit Judge in Leon County disqualified the write-in candidate in the race for State Representative in District 64 for the upcoming Aug. 26 election. Votes will not be counted.
The race will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot as a Universal Primary. All registered voters in District 64 will be eligible to vote for either Republican - incumbent James Grant or challenger Miriam Steinberg. The candidate receiving the most votes will be the winner.
District 64 includes areas of East Lake, Palm Harbor, Oldsmar, Safety Harbor and Clearwater.
Primary ballots have already been printed, so voters will be instructed that any votes cast in this race during the Primary Election will not be tabulated. Notices will be included with ballots requested by Vote By Mail voters sent out after the judge’s ruling. Notices will also be posted in voting booths at early voting sites and in precincts where this contest will appear on the ballot.
