INDIAN ROCKS BEACH – The Pinellas Suncoast Fire and Rescue Board of Commissioners have agreed to propose a $70 fire tax increase.
Commissioners John Todia, Tom Hafner and Dan Madura made the decision at a special referendum meeting Thursday, Aug. 3. Commissioners Robert McEwen and James Mortellite were not present.
The referendum will go on the ballot in November. PSF&RD executive secretary Ginger Lyle said the specific ballot language will be discussed at the board’s Tuesday, Aug. 15, meeting. If passed, the referendum would raise the fire tax from its current $190 per household to $260.
