Article published on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006
ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas County Schools’ annual countywide graduation will be Thursday, Aug. 17, 7 p.m., at the Mahaffey Theater.

Clayton M. Wilcox, superintendent, will be the commencement speaker. Expected to receive their diplomas at the ceremony are 154 students, including 19 who are honor graduates. There will be 141 students receiving State of Florida high school diplomas through the GED program or Pinellas County Schools’ adult education programs and 13 other graduates representing nine high schools. Graduates range in age from 16 to 55.

The annual graduation ceremony celebrates GED students or students who completed high school credit requirements during night school because, for one reason or another, they were unable to graduate through a traditional high school program.

The theater is at 400 First St. S. Call Laura Sargent at 588-6321.
