CLEARWATER - The U.S. Small Business Administration's South Florida District Office highlighted small business borrowers that have received loans through SBA programs under the American Recovery And Reinvestment Act on Tuesday afternoon at the Epicenter in Clearwater.
The businesses and their lenders spoke about how the SBA loan proceeds, without fees and with 90 percent guarantees to lenders, are helping them to succeed.
Pinellas business borrowers include Ageless Construction, Inc. and FDC Property Solutions, Inc.
Hillsborough business borrowers include Cargo Honduras, Inc. and Management Recruiters of Tampa.
Dr. Cynthia Johnson of the Pinellas County Economic Development Department hosted the event.
SBA representatives included Gilbert Colón, Deputy District Director, Robert Chavarria, Senior Area Manager, Jonel Hein, Area Manager; representatives from SBA Lenders Synovus Bank, Regions Bank and Florida Business Development Corporation also attended.
The SBA, founded in 1953, is chartered by the U.S. Congress to champion the cause of small businesses. SBA helps entrepreneurs start and grow strong businesses that create jobs and strengthen communities.
