LARGO – Eleven members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office received promotions during a ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the Magnolia Room of the Pinellas County Cooperative Extension Complex, 12520 Ulmerton Road in Largo.
As part of the promotion ceremony, family members and friends pinned new badges on their fathers, mothers, sons and daughters, who were promoted.
Sheriff Bob Gualtieri hosted the ceremony and announced the following promotions of certified members of the Sheriff’s Office.
Promoted to sergeant: James Arntz, James Campbell, Richard Heaton, Jeff Kanehl and Melinda Stowell
Promoted to captain: David Danzig
Promoted to major: Gregory Handsel
Gualtieri also announced four civilian promotions: Carolyn Anderson, supervisor, Child Protective Investigations; Desiree Battles, supervisor, Probation; Tracie Moore, supervisor, Child Protective Investigations; and Jessica Del Toro Rios, manager, Human Resources.
