The Clearwater Beach, Clearwater Regional, Dunedin, Greater Palm Harbor Area, Safety Harbor, Tarpon Springs and Upper Tampa Bay chambers of commerce recently joined forces as the Upper Pinellas Chamber Coalition.
The seven upper Pinellas chambers, with more than 300 years of service to the Pinellas business community, decided to provide their members added value.
Each chamber will remain independent in managing their events and activities but the chambers will coordinate in several key ways to provide their collective memberships more access to each other’s functions and will extend their joint conduct of several events.
The chambers already have a long history of cooperation in doing an annual trade show and other activities. Forming a coalition allows them to more routinely extend chamber benefits to their joint memberships. This increased level of coordination is also expected to increase leverage in pursuing joint political and infrastructure issues in the upper Pinellas region.
The coalition is planning quarterly “Mega-Mixer” events to encourage their members to take advantage of a much broader networking base and they will also be developing quarterly business training seminars featuring subject matter expects from each of the chambers on key and timely business topics.
According to a press release, the overall goal is to increase services to membership as well as increasing coalition influence on the upper Pinellas business environment without increasing costs.
