Detectives with Pinellas County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit arrested a man Sept. 11 for possessing child pornography after he allegedly admitted to downloading and sharing the content via his computer.
Randy Lee Rosenberry, 53, was charged with 12 counts of sexual performance by a child (possession of child pornography). His address is being withheld per Florida Statute 119.071.
According to detectives, Rosenberry’s arrest is the result of an undercover internet investigation that began in June of 2013. Through the investigation, detectives identified a potential suspect believed to be sharing child pornography videos via the Internet.
Detectives obtained a search warrant, which was served at Rosenberry’s residence Sept. 11. Rosenberry’s computer reportedly contained downloaded material, which is currently under review and additional charges are pending.
Rosenberry was released from the Pinellas County Jail Sept. 11 less than eight hours after he was booked on $60,000 surety bond - $5,000 for each count.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is a member of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation continues.
