ST. PETERSBURG – Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority congratulates lead maintenance supervisor Jody Sibley on his acceptance into the Florida Department of Transportation’s Transit Manager Certificate Program offered through the University of South Florida’s University College/Continuing Education.
Sibley’s acceptance into the TMCP is evidence of the Review Committee’s confidence in his potential, as well as recognition of his contributions to the public transportation industry.
“Jody is a fine public servant and PSTA congratulates and supports him through this great learning opportunity,” said PSTA CEO Brad Miller.
The TMCP trains and prepares Florida’s public transportation officials for the challenges they’ll face as managers. Participants will engage in skill and leadership building sessions to develop the management tools they’ll need for solving modern public transportation challenges.
TMCP offers different course tracks for operations, maintenance and administration personnel. Each track features a specialized seminar series that’s tailored to the student’s area of discipline. The faculty is made up of transit experts who combine real-world experience with extensive management training and industry-specific insight.
To earn his Transit Manager Certificate, Sibley will have to complete seven core courses and one elective over a two-year period. The 24-year PSTA veteran will begin his studies at the USF-Tampa campus on Oct. 16.
