ST. PETERSBURG – Cornerstone Community Church is accepting specially prepared shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child through Sunday, Nov. 13.
Under the name of Operation Christmas Child, this outreach program sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse International Relief organization has collected and distributed millions of shoebox gifts. Many boxes are delivered by truck, boat, plane, helicopter, donkey, dog sled and even camel, to remote countries of the world. Each box, filled with clothing, toys, books and other items, brings hope to children living in poverty, illness and neglect. These boxes come as a ray of hope from our country to those in need and can literally change their lives. Every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan has packed a shoebox gift for Operation Christmas Child.
To make a world of difference this Christmas, participants may choose a boy or girl from age 2 to 14 to receive your specially prepared shoebox gift. Cornerstone Community Church will provide a brochure explaining how to pack the shoebox.
The church is at 6745 38th Ave. N. Call 343-7747.
