LARGO - The University of Florida, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and the Pinelllas County Extension is sponsoring "Secrets for a Comfortable Home" on Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m. to noon, at Home Depot, 10689 Ulmerton Road.
Talk to Bert Henderson, and faculty member with UF Energy Extension, and learn some tricks about how to stay comfortable and save some money on utility bills this winter.
People thinking about purchasing a new heating system can find out what they need to know and understand so they are not intimidated when they talk to a HVAC contractor. Learn about automatic setback thermostats, how to tell if a new or existing system is working effectively and take the mystery out of terms, such as HSPF and AFUE.
The program also will give tips on how to stop air leaks and answer questions about insulation.
