LARGO - Citizens are invited to comment on the performance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office during a special public hearing in connection with the agency’s national accreditation inspection through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement.
The public session will start at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22, at the Sheriff’s Child Protection Division, located at 855 Ulmerton Road, Suite 255, Largo.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office must comply with 480 standards to maintain its national accreditation. According to Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, the agency was first accredited in 1988 and has continuously maintained its national status. The inspections are every three years.
For citizens who cannot attend the public session, verbal comments can be submitted to the assessment team by telephone. The assessors also will take telephone calls from the public from 3 to 5 p.m., Oct. 22. Citizens are asked to call 582-6033 to speak to an assessor.
