LARGO At the recent Business Partner of the Year Reception at the Stavros Institute in Largo, nine organizations were named as finalists for the 2014 Business Partner of the Year, presented by the Pinellas Education Foundation and Pinellas County Schools.
Companies and organizations were nominated in three different categories: Elementary, Secondary and District.
Each year, business partners are honored by the Pinellas Education Foundation at its annual Evening of Excellence, to be presented Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. The winner in each category will be announced that evening and will represent Pinellas at the state level in the Elementary, Secondary and District-wide categories.

Achieva Credit Union Kiwanis Club of St. Petersburg Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union
More than 60 different businesses and community organizations were nominated and inducted into the Class of 2014 Business Partners of the Year in three categories by school personnel, parents and/or community members regarding the work they do that directly benefits students through financial support, other resources and/or volunteer hours.
The dedication shown by our business partners improves student achievement through the resources and support they provide for our schools, said Michael Grego in a press release. Grego is Pinellas County Schools superintendent. It takes a community effort to help students reach their goals. We are grateful for the tremendous commitment of our business partners.
