LARGO - In conjunction with Florida School Volunteer Month, Pinellas County Schools recently announced the 2013-14 Outstanding School Volunteers.
Pinellas County School Board members will honor the Outstanding School Volunteers at the Feb. 25 board meeting.
The 15 Outstanding School Volunteers represent nearly 24,000 volunteers who partner with Pinellas County Schools to promote academic achievement and who have donated approximately 400,000 hours of volunteer service so far this school year.
The Outstanding School Volunteers and overall category winners will be honored at a special celebration breakfast on April 24 at Feather Sound Country Club in Clearwater.
“Our schools benefit from a dedicated cadre of volunteers who selflessly give their time and energy to support education in Pinellas County,” said Superintendent Dr. Michael A. Grego. “These meaningful contributions are helping our students realize their full potential, academically and socially.”
At the celebration breakfast, an overall winner in the youth, adult and senior categories will be announced and those individuals will participate in the state Department of Education outstanding volunteer program at the end of the school year. The 15 outstanding volunteers are:
