The deadline to apply for a statewide scholarship available to certain college juniors and seniors is Monday, March 17.
College juniors and seniors majoring in political science, public administration or business administration, journalism or mass communications at an accredited Florida college may apply for scholarships. The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections, comprised of the 67 county supervisors, will award three $1,200 scholarships this year to eligible students.
“I encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to help with their college costs and apply for this scholarship before the deadline,” said Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark in a press release.
Requirements such as letters of recommendation and financial information are listed on the scholarship application and in the scholarship guidelines, which are available at www.votepinellas.com. Applications should be submitted in the county in which the student is registered to vote.
Scholarship applications must be received by March 17, 5 p.m., in any Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office. Office locations include the following:
• 315 Court St., Room 117, Clearwater
• 13001 Starkey Road, Largo
• 501 First Ave. N., St. Petersburg
