School superintendent names new principals

Several new principals have been appointed at the recommendation of Superintendent Michael Grego.

Kristen G. Sulte, principal of Bay Vista Fundamental Elementary School, St. Petersburg, was named principal of Azalea Elementary School, St. Petersburg.

Kristy Moody, assistant principal of Douglas L. Jamerson Jr. Elementary School, St. Petersburg, was named principal of the school.

Shannon Brennan, assistant principal of Mildred Helms Elementary School, Largo, was named principal of the school.

†Belinda Atkins, assistant principal of Curlew Creek Elementary School, Palm Harbor, was named principal of Ozona Elementary School, Palm Harbor.

Daphne Miles, assistant principal of Garrison-Jones Elementary School, was named principal of Sunset Hills Elementary School, Tarpons Springs.

Tammy Keiper, assistant principal of Plumb Elementary School, Clearwater, was named principal of Woodlawn Elementary School, St. Petersburg.

Sulte began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 1988. She served as a teacher at North Ward and Lynch elementary schools and as an assistant principal at Oakhurst and Mount Vernon elementary schools. She earned a bachelorís degree in elementary education from the University of South Florida and a masterís degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Moody began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 2007. She served as a teacher at Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Elementary School. She earned a bachelorís degree in management from the United States Coast Guard Academy and her masterís degree in elementary education from the University of Phoenix.

Brennan began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 1995. She served as a teacher and instructional coach at Pinellas Park Elementary School. She also served as an instructional coach at Belleair Elementary School and as assistant principal at Belleair Elementary School.

Atkins began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 2006. She served as a teacher, reading coach and an instructional coach at Fairmount Park Elementary School. Atkinsí educational background also includes service as a preschool center director and a teacher in Ohio. She earned a bachelorís degree in elementary education and a masterís degree in instructional leadership from Northern Kentucky University and a masterís degree in the art of teaching from Marygrove College.

Miles began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 1993. She served as a social studies teacher at Tyrone Middle School, an assistant principal at Madeira Beach Middle School and Dunedin Highland Middle School. Miles also served as head of school at Bible-Based Fellowship Christian Academy in Tampa. Miles earned her bachelorís degree in social science education and her masterís degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.

Keiper began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 2001. She served as a teacher at Woodlawn and Campbell Park elementary schools; a curriculum specialist and a teacher on special assignment at Campbell Park Elementary School. Keiper earned a bachelorís degree in elementary education and her masterís degree in elementary education with an emphasis in math and science from the University of South Florida.

Palmer began her educational career in Pinellas County in 1994. She has served as a teacher at Mildred Helms Elementary School, a site-based literacy coach at Madeira Beach and Seminole elementary school. She earned her bachelorís degree in elementary education from the University of South Florida and her masterís degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
