Report card dates LARGO – School officials will distribute report cards on the following dates during the 2013-14 school year for Pinellas County students:
• Elementary students – Thursday, Nov. 21; Wednesday, March 12; and Wednesday, June 4. • Middle school students – Wednesday, Oct. 9; Thursday, Nov. 21; Tuesday, Jan. 28; Wednesday, March 12; Thursday, May 1; and Thursday, June 12. • High School students – Wednesday, Oct. 9; Thursday, Nov. 21; Tuesday, Jan. 28; Wednesday, March 12; Thursday, May 1; and Thursday, June 12.
Uniforms, modified dress codes
LARGO – Following is a list of schools with mandatory and voluntary use of uniforms or a modified dress code for 2013-14. Families should contact their student’s assigned school for confirmation and uniform/dress code guidelines.
• Mandatory – Anona Elementary, Azalea Elementary, Bay Point Elementary, Bear Creek Elementary, Blanton Elementary, Curtis Fundamental Elementary, Dunedin Elementary, Eisenhower Elementary, Fairmount Park Elementary, Fuguitt Elementary, Gulfport Elementary, High Point Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Lealman Avenue Elementary, Lynch Elementary, Maximo Elementary, Melrose Elementary, Rawlings Elementary, Sandy Lane Elementary, Sawgrass Lake Elementary, Sexton Elementary, Skycrest Elementary, Starkey Elementary, Tarpon Springs Elementary, Walsingham Elementary, Woodlawn Elementary, Azalea Middle, Dunedin Middle, John Hopkins Middle, Largo Middle, Oak Grove Middle, Palm Harbor Middle, Tyrone Middle, Bay Point Middle, Pinellas Secondary, Clearwater High, Lakewood High, Gibbs High, and Tarpon Springs High.
• Voluntary – Bay Vista Fundamental Elementary, Lakeview Fundamental Elementary, New Heights Elementary, Pasadena Fundamental Elementary, Ponce De Leon Elementary, Shore Acres Elementary, Southern Oak Elementary, Tarpon Springs Fundamental Elementary.
In accordance with Pinellas County School Board policy 2250 and the procedures manual found within, fundamental schools have dress requirements in addition to the student code of conduct. Families should contact their student’s school for specific dress requirements.
School board meetings scheduled twice a month
LARGO – Most Pinellas County School Board meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Exceptions are July, August, November and December, when the meeting schedule is modified to accommodate scheduled holidays.
Minutes from each meeting are published after they are approved at the following board meeting.
The first meeting of each month begins at 10:30 a.m. The second meeting of the month begins at 5:30 p.m. All meetings are held in the conference hall of the Administration Building at 301 4th Street SW in Largo. The public is encouraged to attend.
Board members welcome questions concerning policies and programs. Anyone in the audience wishing to speak on either agenda or non-agenda items can fill out a form at or before a meeting. Citizens may speak about any item on the agenda.
