Each year the Elks National Foundation provides $3.74 million for high school seniors and their college education.
The foundation will award 500 scholarships to the highest rated applicants.
The Most Valuable Student Scholarships range from $4,000 to $50,000 based on financial needs, leadership and scholarship. These applications must be brought to the lodge nearest the applicant’s home no later than Dec. 6.
Legacy Awards are available for 250 children or grandchildren of dues paying Elk members and receive $4,000 each. Applications must be submitted online by Jan. 31, 2014.
Emergency Educational Grants are one-year grants up to $4,000 and are renewable for college students of deceased or totally disabled Elks.
The Florida Elks Association also offers the HOPE Scholarship. This is also online at www.Floridaelks.org.
Dates vary for these scholarships so it will be necessary to check often so you do not forfeit your opportunity to apply. For more information call your nearest Elks Lodge or contact Janet Rogers at email@example.com.
