LARGO – The Pinellas Education Foundation and Pinellas County Schools have announced the county’s 2012-13 Outstanding Educator of the Year semifinalists.
This program recognizes deserving teachers who foster excellence in education, demonstrate continuous growth and leadership, and involve families and the community in the learning process.
This year’s 12 semifinalists are:
• Jennifer Anderson, East Lake High School
• William Barlow, James B. Sanderlin IB World School (K-8)
• Michelle Brennan, Safety Harbor Elementary
• Becky Bride, Palm Harbor University High School
• Jim Gill, Seminole Vocational Education Center
• Christine Joseph, Skycrest Elementary School
• Krista Kelleher, Sawgrass Lake Elementary School
• Jennifer Klimis, Tarpon Springs Fundamental Elementary School
• Debra Maccini, Douglas Jamerson Elementary School
• Daniel Regan, Pinellas Park High School
• Jean Wark, Perkins Elementary School
• Joanne Wright, Safety Harbor Middle School.
The semifinalists were chosen out of more than 75 nominations. From this group, six finalists will be announced at the beginning of January.
“It’s always a great pleasure to celebrate the accomplishments of the dedicated professionals who have committed their lives to educating our children,” said Pinellas Schools Superintendent Michael A. Grego. “My heartfelt congratulations and thanks for all they do.”
Outstanding Educator finalists and semifinalists will be honored at the annual Evening of Excellence recognition event, presented by the Pinellas Education Foundation on Feb. 25 at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
