Article published on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008
INDIAN SHORES - The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary needs the help of the community to find “Bobby,” a federally protected American kestrel. The bird was last seen at 18328 Gulf Blvd., Indian Shores, on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m.
Bobby is a colorful, male falcon and is well known throughout Pinellas County as the Sanctuary's, “Bird Education Ambassador,” having visited hundreds of schools, events and organizations for many years. It has permanent vision damage.
The federally protected bird is about 12 inches high with a wingspan close to 24 inches. It has blue-gray wings and a reddish brown lightly spotted chest and belly. It makes a loud series of “klee-klee-klee” notes when excited.
Anyone with information about Bobby should call 727-391-6211.
