The Treasure Island and Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce recently moved into this building on 107th Avenue. Renovations are still ongoing and plans tentatively call for an open house later in January.
TREASURE ISLAND – The Treasure Island and Madeira Beach Chamber of Commerce has moved into a larger location at 245 107th Ave.
Chamber president Jo Massaro said renovations are still ongoing and plans tentatively call for an open house later in January.
“We’re really excited about it and have gotten a good response from our members,” Massaro said. “The new site is a more appropriate location. With our expansion (into Madeira Beach), it seemed a like a good move.”
The chamber was previously located a short distance away at 144 107th Ave., where it had about 800 square feet of space. It has about 2,000 square feet at the new location, Massaro said.
The chamber’s new building is owned by Tampa Bay businessman Bill Edwards, who is chairman of the board for the chamber.
Massaro said the chamber currently has just over 200 members and plans to expand that number this year.
Last July, the chamber announced plans to change its name and incorporate Madeira Beach in its name.
The restructured chamber is looking to add community members who are not business owners through a residential membership that is $50 per year. Business memberships range from $150 to $400, depending on the size of the company. A $100 associate membership is available for nonprofits and charities.
