TREASURE ISLAND – Commissioners named seven residents to the city of Treasure Island's Charter Review Committee and selected eight to make up its Vision Steering Committee during its Feb. 2 meeting.
The Charter Review Committee, which is assigned with the task of suggesting changes to the city’s charter every five years, will consist of U.S. Army Lt. Col. Cecil Hersey, District 1; retired electrician Hugh Ruckdeschel, District 2; system engineer Marie Barba, District 3; retired sales rep Noel Johnson, District 4; Treasure Island Chamber of Commerce executive director Dominique Reiter, mayor’s selection; Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg general manager Jim Ramsberger, at-large; and retired disaster specialist Robert Nixon, at-large.
Joyce Weinreich, a retired tax practitioner, will serve as an alternate.
The Vision Steering Committee is formed to guide the City Commission on future projects.
Its members include Reiter, District 1; retired physician Dr. George Greenfield, District 2; retired banker Bernadette Craig, District 3; Elizabeth Saunders, District 4; engineer Parker Lilya, mayor’s selection; Caddy’s owner Tony Amico, business selection; Bilmar Beach Resort general manager Clyde Smith, business selection; and Island Inn manager Harry Black, hotel-motel selection.
