TREASURE ISLAND – A 56-year-old Treasure Island woman called police to her home Feb. 23 to report the theft of two 12-inch marijuana plants.
When police arrived at the 80th Avenue residence, she told officers her home had been broken into some time earlier in the day between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
According to a police report, the woman smelled of alcohol. Initially, she told officers two plants had been stolen. When asked what type of plants they were, she stated she did not want to go to jail.
The woman said a friend of her’s “went to jail for a roach in her ashtray.”
When asked if she knew of anyone who might have taken the plants, she stated it could have been construction workers working on an apartment complex across the street. Later, she said she knew who probably committed the theft but failed to reveal the identity of the person. She also did not want her residence processed by police.
Due to the woman’s lack of cooperation, there will be no further investigation.
