REDINGTON BEACH – A 66-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car about 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, “it does not appear” that Darrel Johnson of North Redington Beach was using a crosswalk when he attempted to cross the road west to east at 16333 Gulf Blvd.
A 1997 Honda Accord driven by Frederick Costantini, 50, of Largo, hit Johnson. Costantini was traveling southbound on Gulf Boulevard in the median lane. Costantini had no signs of impairment and criminal charges are not expected.
