TREASURE ISLAND – Police are asking visitors and residents to be on the lookout for a person who might be spray painting on the new Central Beach Trail and other public property.
Someone with a can of black spray paint left black overspray May 7 on the Beach Trail.
The new trail is only about a month old and already someone is treating it like their garage floor, city officials said.
“We’re asking residents, visitors and business owners on the Trail to keep an eye out for anyone, day or night, who appears to be, well, painting something on the trail,” said city Public Information Officer Jeff Jensen. “This has also happened recently at the Sunset Beach Pavilion.”
After months of refurbishment at the Pavilion, Jensen said someone left an ugly black overspray on the brand new deck.
Call the Treasure Island Police Department at 547-4595 to report any suspicious amateur painters on the TI Trail, Sunset Beach Pavilion or other public property.
