Woman caught with pot
TREASURE ISLAND – A woman was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana May 17 at about 10:21 p.m. after police pulled her 1990 Buick over during a routine traffic stop at 90th and Harrell avenues. Amy Beth Tekely, 35, of Safety Harbor, was given a notice to appear in court. A passenger, Timothy Theron Vogt, 40, of Avon, Minn., had a suspended driver’s license that was confiscated, according to the police report.

Man loses laptop
TREASURE ISLAND – A case of forgetfulness cost a man his laptop computer May 12. According to a police report, a 40-year-old St. Petersburg man pulled into the parking lot of the Thunderbird Beach Resort, 10700 Gulf Blvd., about 9:42 a.m. and placed his Toshiba laptop on the top of his car, took other items out of the back seat of his car and walked inside the hotel, leaving the computer on top of his car. Police said the man walked around the hotel for about 20 to 30 minutes before he realized he had forgotten the computer on top of his car. He walked out to look for it and it was gone. Police report no leads at this time.
