Treasure Island Recreation Department offering summer camps

TREASURE ISLAND – The city of Treasure Island Recreation Department is offering four educational and fun camps for children this summer.

They include recreational, Mad Science, golf and tennis camps.

A 10-week recreational camp for kids ages 5 to 12 runs from June 9 to Aug. 15, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fee is $400 for Treasure Island residents and $800 for nonresidents. Before and after care is available for an additional cost.

Activities include games, sports, arts and crafts, parties, guest speakers, entertainment, movies and field trips. Call 547-4575.

Mad Science camps are held Monday through Friday beginning June 9 at the Treasure Island Community Center Garden Room and the Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis facility, 10315 Paradise Blvd.

Camps at the Garden Room are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. at Treasure Bay. Cost is $130 per week per child.

Mad Science is designed to spark initiative learning through a hands-on, interactive and inquiry-based approach to science. Register online at www.madscience.org/wstampabay.

Golf and tennis camps are for ages 5 and older at the Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis facility. Camps are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon.

The fee is $90 per week or $20 per day. Call 360-6062.
