MADERIA BEACH – Alcohol might be a factor in a crash early Sunday morning that injured a man and caused damage to the Madeira Beach Fundamental School, 591 Tom Stuart Causeway.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash about 12:52 a.m. According to deputies, Michael Roy, 37, of St. Petersburg was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck, traveling southbound on Duhme Road approaching Tom Stuart Causeway.
The vehicle proceeded straight through the intersection and continued southbound through the school parking lot striking the guardrail and school.
Roy suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The crash caused unspecified damage to the school.
