TREASURE ISLAND – Police are investigating a string of auto burglaries that took place from June 24 to 26.
The first involved the break-in of a 2007 Volvo June 24 in the 12100 block of Capri Circle South. A laptop computer valued at $999 was stolen from the unlocked car.
A second theft was reported June 25 in the 11700 block of Capri Circle South where a 2003 Hyundai was burglarized. Items taken included a radar detector and a sleeve of Wilson golf balls. Total value was placed at $260.
Another theft was reported June 25 in the parking lot of Publix Supermarket, 111 104th Ave., where the owner of a 2003 Toyota pickup truck had about $890 in tools taken from the bed of a truck.
A fourth theft was reported June 26 from an unlocked 2007 Chevrolet truck parked in the parking lot of a Circle-K store at 12001 Gulf Blvd. Items stolen included a white Blackberry and a Hewlett Packard Palm Pilot. Total value was listed at $800.
