Treasure Island detectives seek leads in grand theft
TREASURE ISLAND – Treasure Island Police Department detectives are seeking leads in conjunction with a July 1 grand theft just south of the 9000 block of West Gulf Boulevard.

Witnesses reported seeing a man remove a 9.8-hp Tohatsu 2-cycle black boat motor from a 25-foot sailboat that was beached about 5 p.m.

The suspect removed the boat motor and pretended to be the boat owner’s friend. Once confronted, he ran south on the beach with the motor. Witnesses describe the suspect as a white male, 18 to 22 years old, black shoulder length hair, 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and medium build. Police seek surfboard thief
TREASURE ISLAND – Treasure Island police are seeking information regarding a recent theft of a 10-foot Zetech surf board from the rear of a pickup truck. The theft occurred between 8 p.m. July 19 and 11 a.m. July 20. The board is a tri-fin with a “z” on the center. It is blue with white and yellow trim. Anyone with information should call 547-4595.
