CLEARWATER – Two individuals were charged with DUI manslaughter Aug. 13 in connection with the death of 17-year-old Patrick McClean, who was killed while crossing Gulf Boulevard March 22 in St. Pete Beach.
According to investigators with Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, McClean was crossing Gulf Boulevard about 12:44 a.m. when he was struck by a 2011 Hyundai driven by Patsy Harris, 50, of Tierra Verde. McLean also was run over by a 2008 Volkswagon being driven by Sean Daniel, 27, of Tampa. McClean was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to deputies, both drivers showed signs of impairment at the time of the crash. Arrest warrants were issued for Harris and Daniel on Tuesday, August 12.
Harris and Daniel turned themselves in at the Pinellas County Jail in Clearwater Wednesday morning.
Harris was charged with one count of DUI manslaughter. She was released on $100,000 bond. Daniel was charged with one count of DUI manslaughter and one count driving while license suspended or revoked. His bond was set at $100,500.
