REDINGTON BEACH – Organizers of the Redington Beach Property Owners Association’s recent Wine Fest event told town commissioners Nov. 17 the event at Friendship Park went well and was a success.
“It turned out to be a magical night,” said Rosalee Yurasko who, along with Fatima Rapuano, co-chaired the annual event. “It had a real fairy tale feel to it.”
Yurasko thanked the town commission for its support and assistance.
Friendship Park and the Town Hall, which are across the street from one another, were used for the first time as the event venue.
The event moved this year from its setting for the last few years at the beach by La Contessa Condominiums.
The park was an ideal local for the Wine Fest, Yurasko said.
“All in all it was very successful,” she said. “We were enthralled with the location.”
Wine and food were served in Friendship Park. Silent auction items were in Town Hall. The highly popular element of the Wine Fest had more than 100 items auctioned.
The event is the RBPOA’s major fundraiser for its scholarship fund. Organizers did not yet know the net profit from the event, although the gross amount was slightly less than last year, Yurasko said.
Another special annual event, geared more for children, is Saturday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. when the town’s annual holiday park lighting takes place.
A special guest from the North Pole is expected. The RBPOA organizes the event in the Redington Beach Town Park on Gulf Boulevard near Town Hall.
