Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society past presidents gather at the anniversary recognition dinner at Bon Appétit.
BELLEAIR – The Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society recently celebrated its 33rd anniversary with a recognition dinner for past presidents.
The event was held at Bon Appétit in Dunedin with a beautiful Valentine’s Day theme for the special occasion. Large gold vases of multicolored red roses and heart centerpieces were the main focal point of each table emphasizing the symbolic use of the rose since the club’s inception. Gold-framed pink pictures with the words To Meet, To Know, To Grow also graced the tables as a unique reminder of the society’s motto. Heart-shaped candies and balloons scattered throughout the room added a bit of whimsical fun that continued to enhance the overall experience of the evening.
The event, attended by 70 members, recognized each of the 14 past presidents in attendance with a lovely and individualized jeweled handbag as a memento and gift of appreciation for their term served. Current society president, Cathy DeKnoblough, asked each past president to share their idea of what constituted a good leader and what was an important aspect of their year as president. While many terms for leadership were shared all agreed that friendship was an essential component to their overall success.
