CLEARWATER – The Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society held its annual anniversary dinner Feb. 7 honoring their past presidents. Eighty were in attendance at the event, which was held at Carlouel Yacht & Beach Club on Clearwater Beach.
Residing president, Jodi Martino, and vice president, Barb Hoskinson, presented each of the attending past presidents with a yellow rose denoting friendship. Founding president, Cindy von dem Bussche (1979-1980) shared her account of how the club began 34 years ago due to her and many other young mothers in the area wanting to meet and get to know other local women. The club quickly grew in membership and is 165 members strong today, continuing the society motto “To Meet, To Know, To Grow.”
The society meets the first Thursday of the month, September through May, at various local venues for their general meetings. The next meeting will be a St. Patrick’s Day themed dinner at the Belleair Garden Club.
